October 26 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm| $175.00 – $230.00
On June 17, 1972, five men were arrested during a break-in at the Watergate Complex in Washington D.C. The next day there was a routine crime story about the “burglary.”
Then, on June 19, just two days after the break-in, a story began with a single sentence that changed American history.
“One of the five men arrested early Saturday in the attempt to bug the Democratic National Committee headquarters is the salaried security coordinator for President Nixon’s reelection committee.”
An American presidency began to unravel and Robert Redford played the role of Bob Woodward in a movie.
The Mercantile Library is honored to present Bob Woodward for the 2019 Niehoff Lecture.
